BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

the partner
organization
Igdir University (IGDIR01) is a state university established on 22nd
May, 2008. Igdir University has 10 Faculties, 1 Colleges, 4
Vocational School, 1 Postgraduate Education Institute, 23 Research
and Application Centers, besides that the university has 466
academic staff, 200 administrative staff, 164 auxiliary staff and
4568 associate, 4839 undergraduate, 1523 postgraduate and 70
doctoral students as total 11000 students. Considering the
importance of globalization among the rising values of today,
IGDIR01 constantly develops international cooperation with
universities, educational organizations abroad and follows the
developments in the world. After joining the Bologna process,
IGDIR01 has been using the European Credit Transfer and
Accumulation System (ECTS) since 2012.
As Igdir University, we have Student and Academic Staff Exchange
programmes with different European countries under the framework
of Erasmus+ and Mevlana Exchange Programmes. All universities
have bilateral agreements and arrangements with overseas partner
universities and have already carried out similar projects with them.
To exemplify, Igdir University has signed Student and Academic
Staff EP with 91 European HEIs (under the framework of Erasmus+
[including KA131 and KA171] and 45 Mevlana EP, since 2012).
What are the activities
and experience of the
organization in the areas
relevant for this
application?
Through ERASMUS+ 2014-2002 period and the future 2021-2027,
International Partnership plays an important role in positioning Igdir
University international impact as it seeks to meet its strategic aims
and objectives. International partnership and network development
is an activity that cuts across all sections of the university and needs
to be sustainable and mutually beneficial in order to have lasting
cross-border impact. Increasing the number of international
partnerships with institutions worldwide is one of the objectives of
Igdır University. One of the strategic goals is enhancing engagement
with international education and training funding organisations (e.g.
Erasmus+ and Mevlana Exchange Programme) helps to increase the
quality. Another strategic goal is to establish new attempts to
increase student and staff participation in international mobility
programmes. One of the important contributions of
internationalization is its contribution to the improvement of
institutional quality and capacity through the sharing of knowledge
in academic and scientific fields. The aim of our university is to
drive forward our internalisation in a dynamic and meaningful
manner. These aims will also serve the needs of students and staff
by making them active with the exchange programmes. The
mobility will enlarge the capacity of higher education and also will
contribute the research. The academic staff that are internationally
minded can create globally effective research. Students who have
international experience are considered employable because of their
awareness capacity and skills. The academic staff and students who
are a part of international mobility will contribute to the university's
profile, national and international benefits.

in the projects as the staff have different expertise in various
